What to expect: gentle placing of the hands on and off the body, over clothes or sheets; Deep relaxation and even dream-like states are common. Emotional Releases are common which may look like temperature fluctuations, sudden crying, laughing, anger, joy etc. It is common for Reiki to cause heightened awareness and sensitivity to external stimuli so we recommend taking it easy and avoiding stressful environments after your appointment, if possible.
Thai massage is an ancient healing art of traditional Thai medicine. Thai massage is a complex sequence of soft tissue pressing, stretching, twisting and joint manipulations. In Thai medical theory the body's vital life energy flows along energy channels. Any imbalance in the distribution of this energy can cause pain and disease. When the system is balanced you feel happy, relaxed, energized and free from stiffness and pain. Thai massage focuses on the careful application of pressure along these main energy channels to release energy blockages and stagnation. Intentional, rhythmic pressing and stretching of the muscles makes these energetic channels more receptive to this flow so that we can feel more energized and at ease in our body and mind.
Thai massage differs significantly from Swedish massage. One of the main differences is that Thai bodywork is performed on a soft floor mat, with the recipient fully clothed— typically in stretchy yoga or workout attire. Unlike Swedish massage, little to no oil or lotion is used during Thai bodywork.
